Tom Hoffman suggests that at some point every composer will write his own version of "The Four Seasons' and this is my attempt at such a work. Each of the movements depicts an image or evokes a feeling that was a unique experience.
IV. Summer in Maine brings the delights of playing upon the waters, both at the beach and the numerous inland lakes. Unfortunately, it also conjures the return of the tiny, swarming biting bug-the Black Fly. In this movement we hear the frenetic little beasts buzzing around us; our attempts at swatting away the little pests futile.
